For any type of publication, but especially for this type of guide it would be really useful to display the publication date, or at least publication year.

That will give the reader potential clue about version of various software that is mentioned in the guide which can be important. For example, publication date that is before Acrobat X release day would indicate that the guide may not be enough to help resolving malware problems related to that software.

I am sure you know that guides do get out-dated, but I haven’t seen the publication date on any of the guide pages here.

The blog/article pages on this site are actually dated, so you have that functionality. Even adding a creation date to pages describing your guides would help. Without it, the only way a user can get some clue about currency is by looking at the comments section to try to find date of the earliest comment on the page (if there are comments).
