Moving From Android To iOS? Here’s What You Need To Know

From all the doom and gloom surrounding Apple as of late you’d never know that people are still buying iPhones and iPads in droves. A few weeks ago, after two years of Android ownership, I decided to become part of that hoard. The transition was less painful than I feared it would be, but there were still changes I had no choice but to adjust to.

DNS Is Just A Proxy – Use A VPN To Access Region Blocked Video

For copyright reasons, certain media companies only allow their content to be viewed in certain geographic areas. In plain English, what this means is that they are meanies who suck. And what does the Internet do to meanies who suck? We find workarounds. Before I get to the tools, I’d like to talk about the process of geographical Internet Protocol (IP) address blocking and circumventing those blocks.

Pocket Light Meter Is A Must-Have App For Film Photographers [iPhone]

If you’re always on the lookout for old 35mm cameras to actually use (i.e. you don’t want to just pose with them on Instagram) then you should always test the in-built meter’s accuracy as this can diminish over time. The best way to do this is with a fresh battery and an external light meter. Luckily for iPhone owners, all of these scenarios are catered for in one free app..

Are You Being Unfollowed? Check With These Apps and Plugins

In my opinion, one of the best things Facebook ever did was to let users “unfriend” each other without any notifications. There have been numerous examples where I’ve regretted “friending” someone, and I’ve avoided tons of drama thanks to this unfriend-in-secret feature. Now, there are apps and extensions that will let you monitor when people unfriend or unfollow you on Facebook or Twitter.

Twitonomy – Your One-Stop-Shop for Twitter Analytics, Backup & Useful Information

As MakeUseOf’s Twitter manager, and a somewhat active user on Twitter myself, I’m always on the lookout for good Twitter tools. These include great clients, insightful analytics tools, interesting Web apps, and cool Twitter mashups. But so far, my Twitter finds were pretty segmented. It’s either a client, a tracking tool, a backup tool, or something else. That is, until I found Twitonomy.

Path Of Exile Is A Free & Addictive Alternative To Diablo III [MUO Gaming]

Despite breaking the single-day record for sales of a PC game, at 3.5 million, I feel as if Diablo III has turned out to be a bit of a flop. The game had a rocky start with a release that was riddled with crashes, and a huge base of players have severe gripes about the game’s difficulty and gameplay in general. Luckily for me, Path of Exile has just come out of closed beta and is available for anyone to play.

Holo All The Way: Timer For Android Is Simple And Sexy

It’s hard to think about many apps that would be less controversial than a timer. I mean, really, how much more innocuous could you get? And yet, when I wrote about Ovo, some users were quick to point out its limitations. Personally, I love Ovo, and I think its limitations actually make it better. But what if you like the minimalist aesthetic, yet absolutely require multiple timers and time spans longer than an hour?
