Double Driver Makes Backing Up & Restoring Your Drivers Easier Than Ever [Windows]

Your drivers can be a scary and intimidating thing. The two pieces of the Windows backend that I never recommend the novice user play with are the registry and device drivers. The smallest of errors in handling either of these can result in system instability or a completely bricked operating system, and that’s no fun. As you become a more experienced, savvy, and paranoid citizen of the Internet, you’ll grow accustomed to religiously backing up your system and online data.

7 Online Resources To Help Those Who Are Depressed & Suicidal

Even though I am the Managing Editor of MakeUseOf, I have a huge disability in my life which is clinical depression. It started back in 2002, as a depression related to stress in my job, and it exploded in 2003 resulting in a huge mental breakdown and full blown suicidal clinical depression. It was a very dark period in my life back then, and I wouldn’t have wished those symptoms and feelings on my worst enemies.

Quickly Copy Symbols To The Clipboard With Symbol Caddy [Mac]

Quickly find and copy obscure symbols, then post them into any program. Symbol Caddy is among those long-forgotten class of Mac apps – the dashboard widget. Which is a shame, because it’s a widget that is sincerely useful. Imagine you’re writing about currencies, and need to compare the dollar ($) to the euro (€), and as such need quick access to both symbols. If you’re American, where do you find the euro symbol?

Enjoy A Better Typing Experience With SwiftKey 3 [Android]

We type a lot on our mobile devices. We constantly text people, browse the web, type up documents, and so much more. Therefore, keyboards have become one of the most important apps on your device, so it’s important to be using one that you like the most. Plenty of recent Android devices come with the Swype keyboards, which, if you like the swiping mechanism which it uses, is perfectly fine. But there’s room for improvement.

Facebook Stealthily Launches Page Manager App On Google Play [Updates]

Facebook is currently bringing its Page Manager app to Google Play for Android device owners who need to respond to their fans while on the go. This is certainly a step in the right direction, but Facebook’s iOS presence is still substantially higher.

Smartphone – Smarter Healthcare? [INFOGRAPHIC]

Whoever said that a smartphone is the extension of someone’s hand was spot-on. For it seems that everytime someone gets an ache or a pain, the first thing they do is consult their phone or tablet, not their doctor. Take that Doogie Howser. Move over Doctor House. Doctor iPhone is in the room and is taking charge. And I have to admit to doing it myself on occasion, using sites like WebMD or even just Google.
