"The bill would make P2P or BitTorrent client development a criminal offense if the distributed software was used for infringement. It also implements an interesting provision called "imminent infringement", which allows the government to charge people who they think might be about to infringe with a civil offense (for example if you searched "torrent daft punk"). This is among the first official "thought crime" provisions to be proposed by the U.S. government."

Anonymous web searching will become absolutely necessary in the near future, if you believe in free access to information.

I wonder, is there enough of a market for people who want data protection in their searches to merit a service like this? I understand the value of protecting your data, but on search engines it is only used to aim ads at you - which can be blocked. Honestly, the only thing that would drive me to use this engine is the look of it. Very slick! Good luck in your rollout, I will keep an ear out for any more news.

Hi Sam,

Are you ready yet for prime time? I profiled you on my blog in February 09 (http://hidemysearch.blogspot.com/), but when i go to your site, you still show as Beta. Also the search results are not really up to scratch yet.
What are your plans for the engine?

Sameer here from Yauba.

Thank you so much for profiling our service.

As you may know, we are still in our late alpha/early beta period with Yauba. As we are still experimenting with features and trying new things out, we would really appreciate your readers' suggestions and feedback on how to make the service better. We know we still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we hope that with your help, we can together create something truly useful and distinctive for Internet users everywhere.

Please feel free to email me directly at sam (|at|) yauba (|dot|) com. I will try to reply as promptly as I can! Or you can send us a direct message via twitter. Our twitter id is http://twitter.com/yauba. (As we send out many updates related to Internet privacy and data security in general, you may want to consider following us on twitter as well if you are interested in these important issues.)

Thank you so much!
