When you are sending sensitive messages which you do not want shared with anybody, you do not want there to be any record of the message. One way to achieve this would be to have your messages expire after a time limit. Here to help you do that is a phone app called Wickr.

Wickr is a free to use smartphone application iOS devices. The app is sized at nearly 17 MB and is compatible with iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad devices that are running iOS version 5.0 or later. Users of the app can add each other as contacts. Messages through Wickr can be sent to other users of the app only. You can send regular messages or multimedia messages and they will be encrypted during transmission.

For multimedia messages, all metadata is removed to ensure your privacy. You can also set for how long the message will be viewable – after that time has passed, the message will be deleted.
