useKit: Adds Handy Tools To Your Browser

The useKit is a new web service that aims to enhance your web surfing by integrating a bunch of handy tools to your browser. These include:

- option to add sticky notes to web pages,
- display text addresses on a map,
- translate text,
- tweet highlighted text,
- bookmark pages to Delicious.

Getting started is easy, simply add provided bookmarket to your browser and hit it to activate the useKit. It will then open a toolbar at the bottom-left part of your browser with each mentioned tool presented as icons. Just click on the tool you need and start using it.

The application is completely free and doesn’t require any registration. On the other hand, registered users get additional perks like storing and managing all webpage notes, text translations, tweets… etc. in one place.

Features:

  • Enhances your browsing with additional features.
  • Add notes to webpages.
  • Quickly map addresses you come across while browsing.
  • Translate and tweet any highlighted text.
  • Bookmark pages to Delicious.
  • Supports bookmarklet and Firefox addon.
  • Free, no sign up necessary.

This thing can be really useful! I’ve tried using futz.me and Evernote, and none of them were really what I wanted. Let’s try this one!

And please keep in mind, what you see is a very early alpha version. We are working at the moment on some additional features and missions, which will begin to demonstrate the full power of useKit.com.

There is indeed a lot more coming out. The potential of this tool really lies in the combination and flexibility of all provided tools.
It is somehow an AppStore for the web. I am happy to listen to your ideas and comments.
