Pockets: Send Voicemails to Twitter Users

Pockets is an innovative Twitter/ Voicemail mashup which allows you to send voicemails even if you don’t know the recipient’s phone number. The only requirement is of course that they should be on Twitter. You can sign in using your Twitter account, supply your phone number and the user’s twitter handle whom you intend to send the message. Then hit “send voicemail” and the app calls you to record a message. Once you are done, you can hang up and the recipient gets a private voicemail as an @reply and can only hear it once he authenticates his account.

Kakomessenger is a cool and very simple fun tool which lets you send short text messages in the form of a song sung by one of the two singers- Gina and Humphrey at the kakomessenger site. It’s like a site for sendig funny voice messages but you get to decide what the message will be.

To start with, you can select one of the two singers and then type your message in the box. Once you are done, hit play and check out the resulting funny song. You can then replay it or modify it. Once you are sure it sounds good, email it to the person whom you’d like to listen to that song composed from your message.

I think this service could be best used by love birds for conveying messages to each other, especially when they aren’t talking to each other for some or the other reason. Argue with your girlfiend, send her a singing telegram and melt the hardest heart.

A while ago we had profiled Twitxr, a service that lets you post images to your Twitter feed. Images are great but how about voice messages. With Twitsay you are able to do just that: send voice messages from your mobile phone to your Twitter friends. Messages can be up to 10 seconds long and recorded from any phone, both landline and mobile phones.

Before you can get started, all you need to do is create the Twitsay account. For this you’ll need your twitter username and password, and the phone number that you will be calling from. Depending on your location there are four different numbers you can use to call Twitsay:
