A compressed ZIP archive often contains numerous files. It is frustrating to lose access to all those files if a fragment of the archive gets damaged or corrupted. Here to help you recover those undamaged files is a desktop application called Zip2Flix.

Sized at 513KB, Zip2Fix is a freeware for Windows computers. The app does not require any installation – it can be run directly from the executable in the archive you downloaded. The interface of the app is self-explanatory; you click on the Open button and point to the corrupt ZIP or SFX ZIP archive. Information on the contained files is then displayed and undamaged files are recovered. The recovered files are stored in a new ZIP archive and saved for you. The app is extremely simple to use and processes the data quickly.

FileStomp: Zip Your Files Online

Here is another web utility that lets you quickly and easily zip your files online. The application is dead simple and has clean interface. There is no limit on the number of files you can zip at one session.

To compress, select a set of files on your computer and then click on the “Zip it!” button. Once the files are compressed you will get a link to download your .zip file. You can also then share that link with others.

Zip-Online : Online Zip Utility for Mac and Windows

Zip-online is a free web-based zip software that lets you zip up to 5 files online and then download it to your PC or send it over by email. No installation or sign-up required. The only limitation is that individual file sizes can’t exceed 650 KB, that’s all. And since it’s an online service it works both on Mac and Windows computers.

Additionally, if you’re a developer and would like to install similar PHP script on your own website and offer your readers the same functionality then you can download the script from here. It’s easy to install and manage.

There is also a service called Wobzip. It does the opposite of Zip-Online and allows people to upload and unzip archived files online. Quite useful if you need to uncompress the archive file that is not supported by your main archive manager (i.e. Winzip or Winrar). Wobzip works with 7z, .ZIP, .GZIP, .TAR, .BZIP2, .RAR, .CAB, .ARJ, .Z, .CPIO, .RPM, .DEB, .LZH, .SPLIT, .CHM, and .ISO formats.

OnlineZip is a web-based zip application that lets you compress upto 5 files at once and afterwards forward a ready .zip file to any email or download it to the computer. While this maybe of very little use to Windows users, Mac and Linux users who frequently use Windows PCs (at work) may find it quite useful.
