Kabutr: Post & Receive Tweets via Email

Emails sent to us by Twitter do not let us control our Twitter accounts. To view our messages and tweet we need to sign into Twitter which can be a problem if your network has blocked the site. Kabutr is a possible solution to this problem.

Kabutr is a free Twitter client. The word “˜Kabutr’ is Urdu for pigeon. Based on the message carrying pigeon concept, Kabutr carries our command through an email and performs it on our Twitter account.

When we start signing up for Kabutr, we link to our Twitter account. We are then provided with a unique email address which we can send our Twitter commands to. The executable commands include checking our messages, re-tweeting, tweeting, and sharing images. Any email client can be used to send the email.

Twittercal: Add Events to Google Calendar via Twitter

Twittercal is another useful Twitter application which can connect your Twitter account to your Google Calendar by enabling you to add events to your calendar by tweeting.

Here is how it works:

First you need to follow @gcal on Twitter, After that, you need to grant Twittercal a permission to access your Google Calendar account. Once you have done that, you can start adding events to your Google Calendar by sending direct messages.

For example, sending “d gcal meet Elisha at Mcdonald’s tomorrow at 10 a.m.” will add “meet Elisha at Mcdonald’s tomorrow at 10 a.m.” to your schedule. It’s that easy.

ToAnswer: Get Answers to Your Questions through Twitter

ToAnswer is like Yahoo Answers for Twitter. It is a twitter mashup tool that lets you post your questions about anything to the Twitter audience. The questions then get indexed and other twitter users who know the answer could answer it. ToAnswer collates those answers and presents them to you in a simple readable format.

How it works ?

2. Follow ToAsk and ToAnswer profiles (and MakeUseOf ).

3. Ask a question by adding @ToAsk before the question.

Next, ToAnswer Twitter bot indexes your question and posts it on the ToAnswer homepage where other twitter users can answer it. You can also answer questions on the ToAnswer homepage by clicking on ” Answer This ” link below the question and then typing the answer. Further, it also lets you subscribe to RSS feed of the questions which helps you track them from within your RSS reader.
