With so many social networks around you may often find yourself jumping from one webpage to another just to view your updates. The task becomes even more time-consuming if you have signed up for blogging and photo sites. Here to help save time is a web service called TimeKiwi. It is a website that aggregates feeds from the services you have signed up for, and presents them in beautiful timeline format.

Your timeline is populated and displayed with each entry having a date, time, and indication of which network it belongs to.

The site is free for personal use and charges money for corporate use. Supported services for aggregation include Twitter, Tumblr, Posterous, WordPress, and Instagram. All you have to do to get started with the site is to click on a main button on the site and then enter your handles for the abovementioned services.

In case you are going to use the site for your company you will first need to sign up for one of the premium packages that begin from $5 per month.

Sign up takes less than a minute, where you can instantly start uploading your photos and videos and then map them to a specific date. You can set your timeline range, choose your background or upload your own. You can also import your collection from Flickr, YouTube, and Vimeo to quickly add to your timelines. Tiki-Toki also allows you to color code specific events as categories for a more organized timeline. The timeline slides sideways seamlessly, making it ideal for touch interfaces.

Tiki-Toki is largely useful for historical timelines, presenting a developing story from the media, or just looking back at events with your family and friends. The free basic accounts will get you one timeline for free, but you can also sign up for a premium account allowing you to create unlimited timelines and embed them in your own website.

Timelines are a very useful way to represent the overlapping of events over time. If you’re looking to make a timeline of your own, check out Preceden. This web tool does all it can to make creating timelines as simple as possible. Just enter your events along with their start and end dates, and you’ve got yourself a timeline.

Once you have the exact timeline you’ve been looking to create, you can make it public, allowing anyone on the web to see it. Once you do so, sharing your timeline is as easy as sending them a URL. This tool is easy to use and does exactly what it sets out to do, although bear in mind that you’ll need to create an account to use it.

ConflictHistory: Interactive Map Of World Conflicts

ConflictHistory is an interesting mashup that combines a timeline of world wars with their geographical location and presents this data on Google Maps. The timeline starts from 3000 BC and covers all conflicts up to the 2005. You would be surprised to see the amount of conflicts the world has had just in the last decade.

You can view data for any period by simply adjusting a slidebar timeline that runs along the bottom of the map. The conflicts are marked with red markers and also listed in the map sidebar.

The downside to this site is that it only maps location and dates, it would have been nice if related information about conflicts was also available. You can also read related Wikipedia article for each conflict by clicking (i) marker.

Capzles: Create A Timeline From Images & Videos

There are web applications that let you create photo albums (Piacasa, Jalbum), and then there are applications that allow you to create videos and animations (Animoto, e.t.c.). However, sometimes you want something in between those, thats where Capzles come in.

Capzles allows you to create a timeline from captured moments of your life such as photos, videos and various other features like music and background. It doesn’t animate your photos or make a slideshow out of them. Rather, capzles treat every photo as a moment and combine the moments to create a timeline. While viewing a timeline you can click on each moment to see more details like time and date, location and any comments associated with it..

Creating a timeline is very simple. Here’s what you need to do:

1.Sign up at the site and click on “Create ” to create a new capzle.
2.Add a title for your capzle and specify tags and categories if you want to allow people to search for your capzle.

Step 3. Upload photos from your computer.
Step 4. Chose a theme for your capzle. You can pick one of the many themes they offer or design your own from scratch.
Step 5. Upload music for your capzle.
Step 6. Set your privacy options (Public vs. Private).
Your capzle is ready. You can view it, email it to your friends or share it on social networks like facebook, myspace e.t.c.

I think it is a very good tool since it allows you to capture your moments just like they happened. The fact that every moment can be individualized with tags, comments, location e.t.c. makes it even more useful for events like weddings and vacation trips. I really liked the Dark Knight and A brief history of apple capzles from their top-rated collection.

Timerime is an excellent flash based timeline maker tool which helps you to create, view and compare timelines. And of course you can view public timelines created by other users as well. The best thing is that you can include various things in the timeline like pictures, text, Youtube videos and customize it in various ways. Hence it can turn out to be an interactive timeline with various multimedia objects in it. While it’s free to use it still requires the person to signup before s/he can create the timeline.

TimeTube : The Timeline for Youtube

TimeTube is a cool mashup that maps Youtube videos on a time line. It adds that one useful feature that Youtube doesnt’ have. When you search for something on TimeTube it arranges results by date and puts them on a time line, making it easy to browse certain events in the same order they have occured.

For instance, if you search for Obama, you’ll get all Obama ralated videos mapped on a time line. Similarly, you can search for any recent scandal and you’ll get the whole picture. Quite handy. Furthermore, it differentiates more popular videos by making them appear bigger. Users are also able to restrict the timeline to specific time period.
