Hopper is a very simple website that does one thing, and it does it in the quickest, easiest way possible. Basically, it allows users to copy and paste anything into a box, and save it for later access. You can drag and drop files, or copy an image, and it will be in your Hopper when you need to come back to it.

You can try the service out without doing anything, but if you want your stuff to carry across different computers, you will need to make an account.

The account creation process takes two seconds. You simply need to give an email and create a password. Once that is done, you will be able to add things to your Hopper, and log in to any computer and access them. It makes it easy to keep track of those important things.

Your Hopper also has a search function, so if you start storing a lot of stuff, it won’t get lost. Just type in the name of something in your Hopper, and it will bring it up for you whenever you need it.

TextDropApp: Quickly Type Up Text Files & Send Them To Your DropBox Account

If you need to copy a piece of text and upload it for later online access, you normally save it in a simple text file and then email it to yourself. But if you are a DropBox user, then you have a very convenient online option avaialable – TextDropApp.

TextDropApp is a free to use web service that helps you quickly type up text files and upload them. The service basically is a text-file typing uploading client for your DropBox account. You start by granting the app access to your DropBox account. Next you start typing in your text or paste it if it has been copied on the clipboard. The typing interface only supports simple text so any special formatting such as font styles and hyperlinks will be disabled. When you save your file, you can specify its name and the DropBox folder in which it should be saved.

Similarly you can load up text files contained within your DropBox folders and import the text into the app’s typing area.

QikPad: Collaborate Notepad Online

If you need to quickly collaborate with a bunch of people on something that could be done via text, for example discussion on a few lines of code or maybe general chit-chatting, then you might want to try QikPad. It’s a simple online tool which you can use to create a collaborative notepad and invite people to participate in a discussion.

Quickly create a “pad” as they call it, share the URL with friends, and see what everyone is typing at the same time through color coding. Text decoration options are there, as are other sharing options.

QikPad also allows you to create a read-only version of the pad and when you close the session, it can play a time slider that shows you who typed what and when. Overall, some nice features for a simple tool.

PancakeIO: Easily Share Text Files & Other Documents With Friends Online

When it comes to sharing a text file with your friends or your site’s visitors, you have to first open up your web browser, then manually upload the file, then make a few adjustments before the file is ready to be served. This process is made much quicker thanks to a web service called PancakeIO.

PancakeIO is a free to use web service that lets you easily share text files and other digital documents. The service works through your desktop Dropbox client. The first step is to authorize Pancake access to your Dropbox account. The service will create a subfolder in your Apps folder. From then on all you will have to do is drop files into this subfolder. You can use the embeddable code the site provides you with to quickly make your uploaded files available on your blog or website. A direct URL for your Pancake files is also provided that can be shared with friends.

Clip: An Internet Clipboard To Copy Paste Text Between Computers

Clip is a very simple idea with a great use. We often want to transfer data from one computer to another but the only modes traditionally available are either through storage devices or emailing it to yourself and opening it on a different computer. Clip introduces a new way. It is by no means a unique functionality but it is a great feature that lets you create a temporary text area with a custom URL. Copy anything to that custom URL and then access it anywhere and from any machine.

It works like a web-based clipboard letting you save information on one computer and accessing it on another through a specific URL. You can choose your URL to be whatever you want. You can also edit the text from any machine and any time.

Cupcake Ipsum: Generate Lorem Ipsum Text With Plenty Of Cupcake-Related Words

Website themes and test websites often have Lorem Ipsum a.k.a. dummy text on their webpages to fill out the text portions. But since many people are familiar with the standard dummy text patterns, web tools are now being created to generate unique forms of Lorem Ipsum, one of which is a fun tool to use called Cupcake Ipsum.

What sets the site apart from other online dummy text generators is that it incorporates plenty of cupcake-related words. Basically all words relevant to candies, cakes, and sweets are used in the dummy text generation by Cupcake Ipsum.

All you need to do to generate the text is specify the number of paragraphs you want and whether you want each paragraph to be long, medium, or short. Optionally you can include the word ‘love’ plenty of times in your Lorem Ipsum.

MultiCopy: Copy Multiple Texts To The Clipboard

Have you ever mistakenly copied a text over something you already had on the clipboard? When this happens there is usually no way to recover the previously copied text. What you need is a tool that supports multiple text copies on the clipboard. If you are not a fan of Office Clipboard, then the next best thing to use is MultiCopy.

MultiCopy is an excellent browser add-on for Mozilla Firefox. The add-on lets you copy multiple texts on the clipboard in a series. You can highlight one piece of text, copy it, and then highlight another piece of text to copy it and append to the previous text on the clipboard. Thus when you finally paste the text in a browser field, everything you copied gets pasted. The MultiCopy clipboard can be cleared any time using an option in the browser’s right-click menu.

Note: MultiCopy works best only for operations within the Firefox browser.

PhewMsg: A Simple Way to Create Fake iPhone Conversations

Are you in the mood to have some fun? Not every second needs to be one where you are working. If you want to lighten the mood up, or want to play a prank, you should give PhewMsg a try.

Phew MSG is a web service that allows you to create fake iPhone chats just for fun. The amazing thing about the service is the fact that the chat actually looks like the real thing and no one would ever notice that you faked it! Talk about a prank! This one might knock a good laughter into anyone if used properly!

To use it, go the website and enter your name in the top bar. Then below you can see the two Person bars. These are the two people who are texting each other.

Write a message into any and click “OK” to send it to the iPhone chat bubble window! If you don’t like it, you can delete it too by clicking the “X” button next to the message. Once you have made the fake chat, you can click the last button to share the chat and prank your friends!

Quite a funny app in my opinion, but do use it carefully! People might find it seriously real, so don’t use it for wrong purposes!

Gttext: Free Image Text Extraction Software [Windows]

Suppose you have a digital image of a document. To begin editing the text contained within the document, you first need to transfer the document’s text into a text editor. But manually typing all that text is highly inconvenient. Here to offer an easier way is a tool called Gttext – a tool that detects text within images.

Gttext is an open source tool available online and compatible with Windows operating systems. The setup EXE file is sized at 5.6 MB and installs quickly. With the program installed you can point it towards your text-containing image. Among the supported formats, JPG and PNG are included. The application’s built-in tools let you magnify the image and adjust the brightness to optimize the picture. You can then draw a rectangle with your mouse around the text to have the app detect the text contained in the region.

Alternatively you can have the app extract text from the entire image without you having to draw any rectangles. Although the app’s results require a few corrections now and then, you will still prefer it over manually typing long pieces of text.

Marker.To: Highlight Any Text On A Webpage & Share

When we are studying a book or preparing for exams, we tend to highlight important points to remember about different topics. Think of a situation when you’re reading something on the Internet and you want to jot down points. You can save them in Notepad or write it by hand which many of you may not like. To help you highlight important stuff while browsing is a handy extension known as Marker.to.

With Marker.to, you can highlight important information on any website you are browsing. The highlight version of the webpage can then be shared with anyone using a specific URL created by the service. That URL can be shared on Twitter, Facebook or via email with any friend or colleague. Once installed, a small pen icon will appear right next to your address bar. All you have to do is click on that icon and start highlighting important points from any article. If you want, you can change the color of the highlight as well.
