Dropbox is a highly popular online storage service used by many to synchronize and backup files. You normally upload files to Dropbox through your computer. But thanks to URL Droplet, you are now able to save files directly to your Dropbox account.

Drops: Drag And Drop Files To Share To Twitter

With Apple turning to cloud storage with their iCloud offering, the spotlight is now on cloud storage services like Dropbox and Sugarsync. Another player who hopes to compete in this field is Drops. This service uses an Adobe Air front-end which lets you upload and share unlimited files online, as long as files are no larger than 30MB.

While Dropbox integrates into the OS file manager, Drops uses Adobe Air to let you view your files, as well as allowing you to preview images and docs, watch videos, listen to audio files, and preview fonts. You can then upload files to your Drops account by dragging and dropping files to the app. You then get a shortlink to your uploaded file for quick access or for sharing on Twitter.

Drops is yet to add a web interface that will work from the browser, so if you do not have Adobe Air installed, you are out of luck. Still, this app fills a niche for people who want to upload and share files to Twitter as easy as drag and drop.

Many will agree that Dropbox has provided remote workers with one of the simplest tools for file sharing and smart collaboration.
