Phras.in is a free to use website that helps you determine which one of two phrases or sentences is the right one to use. The site determines this by checking which entry results in more search results. Then the one with the most results is the one recommended to you.

You simply enter your two phrases in the boxes available and the number of results is shown next to them. At the bottom you can see what those results actually are.

eType is a great replacement for Typing Tutor programs. Typing Tutors help improve the accuracy and speed of your typing through practice; eType, on the other hand, tries to intuitively figure out which word you want to type and helps you choose from a list of narrowed-down words.

eType works on Windows and is sized at nearly 5MB. Its installation is quite standard and is over in a few moments. After you have the program installed, it sits in your system tray; the icon in the tray can be used to either disable or enable eType.

No periodic notifications or messages are displayed to disrupt your work. All the tool does is display a list of word options each time you start typing (view picture below for example). You can press the directional arrows to choose the words in the list, press ENTER / SPACE to select a word, or press the ESC key to cancel word selection. The program even offers different dictionaries through which you can instantly look up word translations and synonyms.

Features:

Very simple to use ““ nothing to be configured.

Supports multi-languages (dictionaries).

Offers easy translation.

Great, speedy response time.

Helps reduce errors in typing and will be great for people who dislike typing or are slow at it.

Sometimes, no matter how good you are with the English language, you tend to make spelling mistakes while writing an article for your blog or while building a web page. Spellist is a nice and simple online spell checker which makes use of the Google API to scan and spell check an entire web page and detect typos which haven’t caught your attention so far.

As you can see, when I spell checked MakeUseOf, it found some errors, which in fact are not spelling mistakes, instead they are the words which it couldn’t find in its dictionary including the names of the MakeUseOf authors

Overall, it’s a nice and handy tool to perform a one time spell check on your website and make sure all the spellings are in order.

Not sure which of the two spellings is right ? Head to WebSourceIt. It is a web tool that lets you enter two different phrases/words and find out which one is more popular, measured by search engine popularity. Find out whether it’s priviledge or privilege? Away from or away of? etc.

Similarly, it can be used to choose between the right homophones (or homonyms). Homophones are words that sound the same but are spelled and defined differently. For instance, using WebSourceIt you can check whether it’s more then or more than.

How does it work?

(1) Enter your words or phrases in to the provided fields and click “Enter”.
(2) WebSourceIt will then count the number of times the terms appear on the web.
(3) The higher the number, the higher chances of it being correct.

Features

Max phrase length: up to 5 words.

No sign up or registration needed.
