If you are someone who owns a website or a blog and is usually in search of new ways to promote the content then I am sure you’ve started using the Google +1 button that was released recently. Like +1 is a browser add-on that intends to reduce social buttons clutter on your site by combining the Facebook Like and Google +1 function in a single button that’s aptly named Like +1. It is built with Webmynd and is available for Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari.

Apart from the time you’ll save on using another button, there are two more advantages to using this button. First, you can view the Facebook like behavior on your Google profile, and second, it saves all the like +1 data locally which can be exported and analyzed.

Features

Get Facebook Like and Google +1 in a single button.

Browser add-on available for IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

To gather research material for a project or presentation, you normally have to bookmark numerous webpages for later viewing.

Our Facebook “likes” tell us a lot about ourselves, so it is only apt that we have a way to log them and look back on them. Enter LikeJournal, a social bookmarking tool and Chrome extension that records your liked links so that you can go back and click on them for later reading.

Like any app, you will need to give profile access to LikeJournal. Once done, it parses your profile and finds your liked links or Facebook pages and displays them on a dashboard where you can also find the number of people who liked the link or page. The Chrome extension also allows you to search your likes and view recent likes quickly. Once more people join LikeJournal, you can also follow your friends and view their likes for complete bookmark sharing.

With most links already being shared in Twitter or Facebook, things like Delicious and other similar tools are nearing their end. LikeJournal is a welcome addition to social tools since it uses the power of Facebook for a smarter bookmarking solution.

Features:

Logs your Facebook likes in a dashboard.

Uses Facebook likes as a social bookmarking tool.

Show number of likes per link.

Invite friends to view their likes too.

Looking for a new way to connect with your site’s visitors? If yes then a website toolbar with social networking buttons is exactly what you need. Thanks to TurnSocial, you will not need to go through extensive coding to create your own network-loaded website toolbar.

TurnSocial is a very simple and easy web service that is free to use. It helps you create a toolbar with networking buttons that can be placed on your site.

You start by setting the name of your bar. Next you add your site’s usernames on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, and MySpace. Simply leave out a service if your site does not have an account on it.

In addition to networking buttons you can also add your office address and get buttons for location-related services.

With all this done you can then click on the “Create” button. This generates your toolbar and provides you with a code. Simply paste this code directly before the </body> tag in the source code of the webpages you want the toolbar on.

Features:

A user friendly web service.

Lets you add a toolbar to your site.

You can add networking buttons and location-related buttons to the toolbar.

To add toolbar, you only have to paste a few line of code into your site’s source code.

Pearltrees is a browser addon for Mozilla Firefox. The developers of the addon provide users with a great new way of storing and connecting the web content they want to save.

Basically you can create different map-like structures out of nodes; each node can be connected to one another. These nodes are shortcuts to websites. You can create more than one map and add as many nodes as possible. Nodes can be rearranged as you like. The addon places some new buttons next to the address bar to easily add your websites to your Pearltrees account. You can use these buttons to reach your Pearltrees account as well.

The organization offered by the addon makes it a unique tool and will surely be appreciated by many users.

Features:

Cool visual bookmarking tool for storing, sharing and organizing web content

User friendly interface.

The buttons placed on the address bar let you add new nodes / “˜pearls’ and visit your pearltree.

Hovering your mouse over a pearl shows its preview in a small window.

You can rearrange pearls for better organization.

Facebook has flooded out of its walled garden and onto the entire web in the form of little “like” buttons. You’ll find these on almost any site you can think of: Pandora, IMDB, YouTube and just about every newspaper on the Internet. Click these and you’ll automatically communicate to your Facebook friends that you “like” a given song, movie, video or article.

Of course, people doing this will lead to a deluge of information on Facebook’s homepage as your friends like everything under the sun. Enter LikeButton.Me.

This service allows you to sort things your friends have “liked” by individual websites, sorted into categories that include video, news, tech, information, Facebook, games, entertainment, reviews, photos, music, sports and movies. Click any of these categories and you’ll be shown boxes representing the most popular sites in this category.

For example, if I press “news” I see this:

This gives me an overview of the kinds of articles my friends are sharing at some of the most popular news sites on the web. If my friends aren’t sharing anything at those sites right now, I’ll be shown information about the most popular articles being shared at those given sites.

Concerned about privacy? You should be; Facebook’s changing a lot of things very quickly. LikeButton.me claims there is no threat here, however: “don’t worry, the like button has no access to your personal information.”

Features

Overview what your friends “like” on the web.

Breaks “likes” down into categories that are broken down in boxes representing individual sites.

Great way to see what sorts of articles and videos your friends care about.

We talked about DiggLabs sometime back which was a suite of real time tools for Digg users. Delicious Spy is a similar tool for delicious users, albeit much less sophisticated and with a simpler interface. It shows the sites people are bookmarking on delicious in real time. You may save the ones you like on Delicious or share them on Digg and Reddit directly from this site. You can also filter the results by tags and be notified by sound when new bookmarks appears.

The site does look kinda ugly but is definitely useful for Delicious fans. One nice feature is that you can quickly save a link by clicking on save for later and then access it through ‘My Saved Links’ on the top right corner of the page.

Features

Real-time tracking tool for watching newly added bookmarks on Del.icio.us.

Save on Del.icio.us or share on Digg or Reddit directly from the site.

Filter bookmarks by tags.

Quickly save a link and access it through ‘My Saved Links’.

See more Del.icio.us tools under MakeUseOf delicious section.
