StarCommentator: ESPN Sports Presenter Competition

Ever wanted to present on Sports Centre? Well ESPN and Skype have teamed up to give one lucky person the opportunity to do just that. They have launched a new program dubbed Star Commentator whereby entrants use Skype’s video recording service embedded on the site (www.starcommentator.com) to submit a small video application; and if they’re good enough they’ll present a sport segment on the Asian edition of the show.

Users must first go to www.starcommentator.com and click ‘Audition’. Then they’ll have to choose one of several sports which include Football, Formula 1, Cricket and Basketball. They then select one of the scripts associated with that sport. For example, one of the scripts concerning Formula 1 talks about Michael Schumacher’s exit from the sport.

All that’s left to do is to make sure you have your lines rehearsed, hair combed, the lighting is just right and your web cam is set up appropriately. Then move on to step four which is the recording screen where you’ll record the video using your webcam. A small dialogue box may pop up which asks your permission to access your web cam. Above the recording screen you’ll see the tele-prompter with your lines scrolling down for you to read.

Call Graph is a free call recorder for Skype. Using this handy tool you can record your Skype calls and save them as MP3 files. There are plenty of Skype recording programs out there, but most of them come with a price, Call Graph on the other hand is completely free without any restrictions of any kind. (CallGraph is a Windows only application so you won’t be able to record Skype calls on Mac OS X.)

One really great feature that comes with Call Graph is the ability to tag recorded conversations with relevant keywords so that you can search for them later. After you record a conversation, you have an option to add relevant information to the call.

There are two ways to record the calls. One option is to set Call Graph to record every Skype call automatically. The other one allows you to manually choose when to start and stop recording the call.
