Some people respond to emails on time and some don’t. If you’ve a friend or contact in the latter category it’s worth giving FollowUpThen a shot. You don’t need to sign up for an account to use the service, either: simply CC the email to the service, using the amount of time between now and the follow-up as the user name and “followupthen.com” as the domain.

As you can see above, sending a follow-up in one day is as simple as CC-ing the message to “1day@followupthen.com.” Doing this will send a follow-up email to me and my recipient (assuming I don’t get a message back by then). If I wanted the follow-up sent to only myself, I’d simply add the @followupthen.com address to the BCC category instead of the CC. Simple, right?

Futurecovery is probably the simplest of all the other such apps like EmailFuture, Lettermelater and Futureme, which we’ve discussed in the past. It has a simple AJAX based interface which asks you to type the future date, the message and the email address and then click send to receive it on that date.

Futurecovery pitches itself as a promise sending app which asks you to write down a promise you make to yourself, like accomplishing something by a particular date and then send that email to yourself in future to check if you kept up with that promise you made to yourself. However, this app can also be used to send reminders or other emails in future to yourself or your friends.

Here is an interesting text editor that can keep you on toes by constantly reminding you to get back to writing and finish the task you’re working on. You can customize the type of reminders from nice and gentle ones such as screen color change to more aggressive reminders in form of pop-up boxes and music alerts.

To get started, simply set your word count and time goal, then choose reminder type and click on “Write!”. Next it will open up basic text editor where you can start writing. When it doesnt’ detect any typing activity for a certain number of seconds it will start the reminder alert and not stop playing it until you get back to work.

Zlert is an alert service which lets you receive alerts from Amazon about a new product or changes made to an existing product.
