Rapidshare.net: Search Engine for Rapidshare Files

Rapidshare.com is a popular file hosting service which lets anyone upload files and share them on their websites, blogs, forums etc with others by posting direct download links. The problem is that there is no unified search engine for people to search files on Rapidshare.com. And more importantly, when download links expire users end up with broken links.

Rapidshare.net provides a solution to this problem. Next time when you upload files to Rapidshare simply change the extension of your Rapidshare links from .com to .net. When a user clicks the Rapidshare.net link, they are redirected (within 15 seconds) to the official Rapidshare.com download page.

If the link is dead, the user is offered alternative download link to similar files.

There is a huge benefit for webmasters. Your users won’t get stuck with broken download links. And when you link from your website to Rapidshare.net, your site gets cached in its database and as a result you get search results traffic when someone searches on Rapidshare.net for that file.

Here is another Google-powered search engine that lets you search popular file-sharing websites for all sort of files including mp3s and movies. These sites are: Rapidshare, Megaupload, Badongo, Mediafire, Gigasize, Seriesyonkis, Filefactory, Filefront and Peliculasyonkis. You can either search all sites at once or select and search only the ones you want.

There are many rapidshare search engines available, for example Rapidshare1 and Totme, which we’ve already written about. However, Crawl Rapidshare is different and claims to be the first ‘ realtime ‘ rapidshare crawler search engine. It runs a script which checks if the links displayed in the search results are valid anymore and point to real files. There’s a check links validity box just below the search bar which when checked returns results which contain working links.

As you can see in the above screenshot, it also displays the file size of the file to which the links point to respectively. This is certainly a useful tool for rapidshare users.

Wow ! It seems I’m just in love with alternative search engines, isn’t it. Today I talked about how search.io lets you search different sites in tabs on the same page. And here I come across another cool alternative search engine named Njouba which lets you

- search the web and find free mp3s online
- search for videos on video sharing sites
- search images
- search for files on FTPs
- search web for PDF e-books
- search Rapidshare content
- search torrents

All of these search tools can be accessed in different tabs on a single page.

It shows the links to the files on the respective sites. This could be a very useful search site for sure.

In the following screenshot, I searched the rapidshare tab for the query ‘Dark Knight’ and it immediately showed the related downloadable files in Rapidshare.

Certainly a handy search tool. It is also available in different languages. Give it a shot.
