Do you know what drink best matches your music taste? As it turns out, there is an app for that. Drinkify is a simple app that suggests drinks for you based on the music you are listening to right now. This idea may just be an offshoot of music suggestions based on your mood, but it works out to be a fun app nonetheless.

Using Drinkify is very straightforward, just enter the artist, song, album, or anything that you like in the music search box, and then Drinkify will match the best drink for you. So typing in “Usher” will get you a 10oz gin, while typing in “Justin Bieber” will get you an 80z Red Bull. We don’t know how Drinkify comes up with these results but it sure shows how drinks and music mix together.

Drinkify is a somewhat useful app for those who need drink suggestions when planning a party. Other than that, it is just a fun and clever app.

While hosting a party you do not want to play music that your guests do not like. A simple solution would be to put their favorite songs in the playlist. This is easily accomplished by a service called djtxt. It is a simple online service that helps your guest collaboratively create a good party music list via text messages.

. The first step is to add the djtxt bookmarklet to your browser’s bookmarks toolbar. Click on the bookmarklet when you visit Grooveshark. This will open up a web audio player within your browser. You can put the browser to full screen and turn up the speakers to play music for the party. djtxt will ask you to register your nickname by texting something to 404-369-7664. Once you are registered, you can add items to the playlist by texting the artist’s name along with the song title. The guests at your party can do the same: register with djtxt and then add songs to the playlist by texting.
