Videos, audio files, and images that are free to use commercially are a little difficult to find online. Given the number of sites offering such media, it can be quite time consuming to search each site individually. CC Search is one site that lets you search for free media from different sites under a single interface.

CC Search is a free media search engine that scans metadata associated with media; this enables it to give you access to the freely licensed content available from many popular content providers such as Blip, Flickr, Fotopedia, Google, Jamendo, Open Clip Art Library, SpinXpress, and Wikipedia Commons.

You select your source according to your desired media type: images, vector images, audio files, or videos. Then choose to search for media that is free to use commercially and/or can be modified. The search results are displayed on the source site’s page as if you conducted the search on the source site itself.

You can also choose the site’s old interface and view the results under CC Search’s own frame. The older interface also makes it easier to jump from one source to another through tabbed buttons.

Features:

A user friendly media search engine.

Lets you search for cc content that is free to use commercially.

Searches a number of popular content providers.

Lets you search for images, vector images, audio files, and videos.

Google’s recent introduction of instant search results has created quite a hype. Since then, developers have been trying to apply the feature to different services. Instantise is a simple app that implements this feature for various services including Google, YouTube, Twitter, PHP, Techmeme, Maps and more.

As you start typing, Instantise will not only show search suggestions but also display results while you type. For example if you are searching for a song on YouTube, Instantise will try to guess the song while you type and start playing it. The results will change dynamically with each additional letter you type in the search box.

The tool has a great functionality with a simple interface. As more and more web services start adopting the instant feature, the technology will change the way we search.

Features:

Adds instant search feature to top sites.

Suported sites: Google, Youtube, Maps, Images

See search results while you type.

Supports 8 different web services.

No registration required.

The Internet has done a great job of allowing people to seek knowledge. In addition to millions of webpages, there are also various websites where users can ask questions from other users. Such sites provide a great source of first hand knowledge. BeenAsked is a web service that makes this even better by letting you search multiple Questions/Answers websites from a single platform.

This eliminates the need to jump from one site to another in the hope of finding information and lets you search everything at one. Simply enter the question you are seeking the answer to and BeenAsked will search the archive compiled of multiple different websites for your answer.

Once the question is displayed, you can view the answer on the external website, see how recent the question is, view the source where the question was originally asked and even add your own comments if you know the answer.

You can also browse through some recently asked questions and browse information using recent tags or popular tags. BeenAsked crawls these resources pretty frequently so you can also find questions that have been asked just a few minutes ago. You can also view related questions for any topic and sort comments by popularity or time. You do not need to register to use the service.

Features:

Search multiple Questions/Answers sites from a single platform.

Browse recently added questions.

Browse by recent or popular tags.

View related questions and post comments.

View the complete archive of questions.

No registration required.

Bing and Google are my favorite search engines and I execute searches on both. For other Bing and Google loving people like me, Bingle was created.

As you can tell from the name, Bingle is Bing (+Goog)le. The site is a search engine tool to search bing and google at the same time. When you type in a search query on Bingle and “bingle” it, a webpage opens with Bing results in the left pane and Google results in the right pane.

The results are separated in a distinguishable way. You can scroll each page separately. Not only does this feature work for simple web searches, but on Bingle’s homepage you can choose any search type (web, images, videos, maps, shopping, and news). Alternatively you can change the search type in the top left of the results page.

Features:

Combines search results from Bing and Google, and shows them together.

Search types include web, images, videos, maps, shopping, and news.

Search results are distinguishably separated for clarity.

The perfect tool for Bing and Google fans.

Online classifieds have become the first choice for finding good deals on new, used, and rare items. These websites come up with relevant searches and can save you a lot of time compared to ads from traditional publications. But with several services online, it can be tricky to keep track of all these deals.

Tinkomatic is an all-in-one search tool for online classified ads. It combines all searches from popular classi-ad websites like Craigslist, Kijiji, Oodle, and eBay in one page so that you can find what you need quickly ““ be it a new job, a house, a used car, or any item for sale.
