Music lovers are often on the lookout for new bands and music. They might want to find new music according to their mood, the artists they like, or through information they already have. All these things can be done efficiently on Listen Music. It is a website that lets you discover and listen to free music online without downloading. You can choose to sign up an account on the site but it is not required to listen to the songs on the site. Creating an account enables you to organize songs into your own playlist.

On the site’s homepage, you can search for music using a keyword based search; alternatively you can use the sidebar to choose your mood or activity and then view the site’s playlist under it. A list of popular artists on the site is also given which helps you discover songs by them you had not known about.

Each track displayed on the site has numerous controls attached; these controls let you stream the song, search for it on YouTube, add it to your favorites, view its lyrics, or share it with your friends.

Stereo8 is a free music radio site that streams music like many other radio web services out there. However, there’s one main difference which sets it apart – it’s user driven. Users can login using Facebook, Twitter, Google account or OpenId and vote for upcoming tracks and share songs. It also lets you vote on upcoming songs, just like you vote stories on social sites like Digg.

Listening to stations doesn’t require a login but uploading and voting does. Currently it features 5 stations – Hip Hop/ Rap, Video Games, Pop/Hits, Dance/Electronic and Rock/Alternative. It’s a completely browser based and has a nice and simple interface. A desktop version is coming soon.

There are tons of music services that let you listen to free music online without downloading but the reason Meuzer is different is due to cool interface and easy navigation features. When you type in the name of the song or the artist in the search box Meuzer looks it up on YouTube, Imeem etc and plays the song in its embedded media player.

The Meuzer player give you options to play, rate, share or add songs to playlist. While you are able to play and listen to music without logging in to access other features such us playlists you will have to login using your Facebook username.

I should also mention that this app delivers almost accurate results. I tried it with a few blogs in it’s list and the conversion from text to speech was accurate and impressive. You can also report mispronunciations and new blog feeds to them so that they can make the required changes.

Got upset because Muxtape was shut down? No worries there is a new and better alternative called 8Tracks. 8Tracks lets you do two things:

Not sure what a “mix” is ? Mix is a short playlist containing at least 30 minutes – roughly 8 songs. When creating a mix you can either use the songs from 8Tracks music library or upload your own MP3s.

Earfl: Create, Share And Listen To Stories

Earfl is a website which aims at creating a new revolution similar to what blogging did by letting people write about their personal life and publish it online easily, but in a different manner. Here instead of looking at articles written by people, you actually get to hear them. Earfl is actually a cool way to create, share and listen to stories online. And the stories are in the form of voice recording of those who narrated it over the phone to Earfl. Hence it adds a human factor to the stories by letting people record it in their own voice and share it online.

As you can see in the screenshot above, it’s a pretty simple process. You first need to register at the earfl site and then call up 415-223-3802 and read out your story which gets recorded in the form of a voicemail and when you hangup it appears online in your Earfl account. It also asks you to enter your phone number during registration to automatically save recordings from that phone number to your account.

Additionally, you can join groups or just listen to stories submitted by other members while watching the cool slideshows.
