When searching for the same word or phrase on multiple webpages, it becomes annoying that Firefox doesn’t remember the word or phrase and you have to re-enter it every time. FindList solves this problem by saving your last 50 webpage searches into a drop-down list.

It eliminates the re-typing or copy-pasting of keywords when doing extensive searches on a webpage and keeps you more organized. You can set preferences such as the number of entries you want to keep in the list (default is 50) and the field width. If you want, you can also set the option to stop it from keeping entries for a while. One thing that can be added to make the extension even better is the ability to delete individual search terms from the list.

Features:

Firefox extension that turns your recent Ctrl+F searches into a drop-down list.

Change the number of entries you want to keep in the list.

Set field width.

Working with HTML tables is something anybody can feel the need to do. You might need to sort some test results available online or you might want to filter out sports stats from an online HTML table. Other features of the app include creating charts such as histograms for the data available in an HTML chart.

The only way to have a better look at an image on a particular webpage, either by zooming into it to look at specific details or maybe rotating it clockwise or anti-clockwise, is by downloading it first and then using a basic image editing tool to get the job done. If you are using Firefox and find yourself doing this often then you need this add-on called Image Zoom. It does it all within Firefox so you don’t need to download images separately.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there are plenty of zooming options that you can put to use. The rotate options are rotate right, left, 180 degrees and a rotate reset option to go back to the original position of the image.

Features

Zoom and rotate images within the browser.

Add-on for Firefox.

Plenty of zoom and rotate options.

If you are looking for a good translation tool for Firefox then you might want to give this add-on called Translate This! a try. It’s a simple tool that gets the job done effectively and also offers some extras. It uses Google Translate and you can translate specific text on the page or the entire page using it. You could also directly translate a link without opening it by using the “Translate this! – Link” option in the right-click menu.

The settings of the add-on offers 2 options. First, the ability to set the default language code and whether to open the translated page in a new or the same tab and secondly, the ability to set a keyboard shortcut.

Overall, a handy utility for those who use Firefox and who have to do translation related tasks frequently.

Features

Translate specific text or entire webpages.

Add-on for Firefox.

Recently, Mozilla released Firefox 7 which caused trouble for many Firefox users including me. After updating to the latest version of Firefox, all the add-ons just disappeared from the Add-ons Manager.

One very useful feature of Mozilla Firefox is private browsing. People prefer to use it when they don’t want to leave any trace of websites they visit. However, if you browse the Internet you will find certain tools and addons available which can retrieve the webpages visited with private browsing enabled.

So a better option would be to disable the history completely for a certain time period. To do that, you should check a useful addon named History Disable button.

Once installed, the addon adds a disable history button in the Firefox bar. Clicking on the button will activate or deactivate the addon. When active, it disables the history including the address bar auto-complete feature to improve privacy. This is important if you are using a shared computer and you don’t want other users to see webpages you have visited.

Features

The release of Firefox 4 with its speed, security, and interface improvements showed the impressive evolution of a browser we all love. But it did not stop us from noticing that Firefox’s download management interface has not changed at all – it still opens in a new window which makes for a messy desktop. Downloads in Tab is a Firefox extension that helps solve that by sticking the download window in a tab within your main browser window.

Once Downloads in Tabs is installed, the browser will open a tab automatically at the start of a download. You can choose to select the tab just like a regular browser tab. You can also choose to open only from the menu, or open always for every new download. After downloading, you can close the tab automatically or leave it open. You can even pin the downloads tab for quick access.

Downloads in Tabs is a much needed addon for Firefox that is especially useful for any user who downloads lots of files and want to keep everything in one browser window.

Features:

Puts the download window as a tab.

Select tab from menu or direct.

Close tab automatically after finishing download.

Move download tab to first.

If you love sticky notes for Windows 7 then you might need a more useful version of sticky notes that lives right in your browser. Internote is a Firefox addon that allows you to stick notes to web pages. You can save notes on websites so you can see them again once you return.

Internote works just like a desktop app that integrates with Firefox. You can move notes, resize, change colors, and also import and export. The options window helps you manage all your notes at once. If you have too many notes, you can minimize all of them in one click to remove clutter. Plus since Internote does not integrate with any web app, it just appears as a layer in your homepage which makes it much more secure.

Internote is an awesome tool that makes it easy to stick notes anywhere – very useful for remote workers who rely on lots of websites for work. In addition, having these notes on your webpages will increase your productivity since everything is laid out for you.

Features:

Sticky notes for web pages. (Firefox addon).

Free; no sign-up required.

Resize, move, minimize notes.
