PutPlace lets you backup and upload files in several ways.

1. Backup from Photo/Video Sharing Websites

This option allows you to configure PutPlace to backup videos and photos from your existing online account i.e. Flickr and Youtube. At the moment it supports only Flickr.com, though more services will be added in the future.

2. Upload Files Manually

You can also upload files to your account manually. Quite handy if you’re connecting from places like hotels and internet cafes and want to upload photos to PutPlace account.

3. Desktop Client

Finally and most importantly there is a desktop client. Once installed simply select the files and folders you want it to backup online and it will do the rest. You can install the PutPlace desktop client on as many computers as you like. It’a fully automatic and can run without any action on your behalf. Set it once and forget about it.

At the moment desktop client available only for Wndows Vista and XP machines.

PutPlace free account gives you 2GB of free storage space. However since the service is currently in Beta you can still use it for free even if your backup data exceeds the limit. The only thing they want in return is your feedback. So give it a try.
