If you love RSS feeds but would rather prefer a different way of going through them instead of the conventional RSS feed reader, then Spectives is a site you should try out. It is a visual RSS reader that lets you follow your favorite sites on a sleek visual interface. It shows you the main image from the article and the content excerpt. Hence it works great with blogs who have lots of images in their posts.

A nice thing about this site is that it offers some cool feed collections under categories like gadgets, cars, phones etc. You could directly subscribe to them or build your own collection of feeds easily. Create different feed collections and view them in separate tabs. Also do a visual search for the content.

RSSFeed.me is a web based RSS ticker that offers you an alternative way to monitor your RSS feeds. It lets you submit your feeds and then watch them as big headlines scroll across a black background.

To get started all you have to do is go through quick registration process and then add your feeds. You can add them one by one or import as an OPML file.

Additionally you can tag feeds with colors. This is useful if you want to keep an eye on particular feed, tagging it with specific color will make it stand out.

Yes, as the title says, Bloglovin is a very simple RSS feed reader, especially for those who don’t want to go into the complexities of a feed reader like tagging, organizing and all. The site lets you create a simple list of blogs which you want to follow and get notified when one of these blogs publishes a new post. When you click on the post, it shows you the original post in a new browser tab instead of showing the feed.

Hence if you are a geek or even tech savvy, Bloglovin is not for you. It’s for the rest of the crowd who aren’t into web tools and would prefer a simple solution to read their favorite blogs and websites and get notified when they are updated.

You might also want to have a look at a similar website called Rososo that was profiled earlier.

I should also mention that this app delivers almost accurate results. I tried it with a few blogs in it’s list and the conversion from text to speech was accurate and impressive. You can also report mispronunciations and new blog feeds to them so that they can make the required changes.

Do you use Google Reader? Have you ever wondered whether there is a desktop client that would allow you to access it right from the desktop? Enter ReadAir – Google Reader App for your desktop that works on Adobe Air. The application is quite new and still lacks some of the power-user features but as far as I can tell, all the basics are there.

Immediately after you install the ReadAir application on your computer, you’ll be prompted to enter your Google login information.

Once you enter the user details wait for a few seconds until ReadAir syncs itself with your Google Reader account. The ReadAir interface is quite similar to Google Reader, maybe looks a bit nicer. See screenshot below.

Furthermore, you have an option to control how often ReadAir should sync with Google Reader and check for feed updates.

The only problem I had is with ‘Add Feed’ option, it simply didn’t work for me. The only way I could subscribe to a new feed is via a Google Reader account. Few moments later it would appear in ReadAir as well.
