FaxDesk is a web service that lets you send and receive faxes online. The site offers you free and premium packages that offer different faxing limits. You can start using the site by first creating an account on it. Log into your account and you will be able to send your digital documents as faxes to physical numbers.

Supported digital files formats include PDF and TIFF. In case you want to receive faxes, the site can provide you with a fax number from about 30 different countries in the world making it easier for the sender to send faxes to you. The received faxes are delivered to your email inbox.

HelloFax is a simple to use web service that lets us fax any type of document to a fax number in the US. All you have to do is sign up for an account and click the activation link you are emailed. You then upload your document and enter the fax number of the recipient. You can also enter the email address of the recipient in case you want to email the document through HelloFax.

Signing the documents is also possible. You can specify a signature through your mouse or laptop’s touchpad. This signature can be used on the documents you fax.

Currently HelloFax lets you send up to 20 free faxes per account.

Additionally, the site also displays faxes send by other users. You can view recent faxes, best rated faxes and most rated faxes. Anybody can rate a fax on a scale of 0 to 5 where 0 is for lame and 5 is for interesting. There is also an option to add a title, caption to your fax and rotate or delete it even after you have sent it in. The collection includes everything ranging from random memos and funny lines to random diagrams.

After the fax been sent MyFax sends sender an email message stating whether the fax was successfully delievered or failed. When the fax delivery is failed MyFax attempts to resend the fax up to three more times.

One way is using a browser. You just need to fill in the recipient name, destination fax, your valid email address and the body of the fax. The site maintains a dynamic coverage list. You can enter the fax number to ensure that it is reachable before you actually send the fax.

The other way is to send fax using regular email from your PC. In that case, any email software can be used to fax from computer. To send a fax via email, you just need to start your mail software and compose a new email message.

The address format is as follows,

remote-printer.recipient_name@fax_number.iddd.tpc.int

where:

- recipient_name is the recipient’s name
- fax_number is the fax number starting with country code.

So how do you set it up? Simply complete the sign-up and you will be allocated a 10-digit Seattle phone number where people can send faxes or leave you voicemail messages. So as long as you’re fine with a Seattle area code, it’s a great free answering machine and fax-to-email service.
