It scans your site’s RSS feed and searches more than 35 billion blog and web pages to find if someone reused your content and if the copied content meets your minimum attribution requirements. Currently service covers text content with support for videos and images promised soon.

How it works?

1. Enter your RSS feed and the select a license under which you want to share your content, or not share at all.
2. Provide your email to confirm your account.
3. Get FairShare RSS feed.
4. Wait till it scans sites and blogs for your content (Can take up to 8 hours).
5. View sites that are reused your content through a provided Fairshare RSS feed.

Service works best for English language texts and supports major European languages and even works for static sites. It is totally free but has limitations on the amount of content you can add. To lift the limits, get an Enterprise paid subscription account.

Each found copy will have a clear side note (i.e. bears a slight resemblance, share many similar elements or is an exact copy) that tells you degree of resemblance to your post.

There are two ways you can use CopyGator.

1 – Add your feed to the CopyGator and get an overview page for your blog. You can bookmark this page and check when you need to see if someone coping your content.

2 – Add provided badge to your blog and CopyGator will watch your content. Clicking on this badge will take you to the overview page. The badge also changes its color from green to red when copy of your article is detected. See sample badge below:
