Convert bookmarklet to Chrome extension is a pretty self-explanatory name. Yes, the tool helps you convert a bookmarklet to an extension for Chrome is a simple drag and drop way. Well, that’s a part of the process. You do need to follow some steps which involve extracting the extension file and then loading it on Chrome through the Developer mode in Extension Settings. But it’s all very easy and neatly explained step-wise on the homepage of the tool.

The tool was created by Peter Legierski when he found that the existing methods of converting bookmarklets to extensions did not yield the desired result. If you frequently use a lot of bookmarklets then you might consider going this route and reduce some bookmarklet clutter on your Chrome toolbar.

Microsoft Translator Bookmarklet: Quickly Translate Webpages In Any Browser

If you have been yearning for a Chrome-like translation feature where it can quickly detect the language and translate to a language of your choice then you could use this nifty translation bookmarklet produced by Microsoft Labs. It’s a simple and useful tool where you first set the language to which you want a page to be translated to, from the dropdown menu they provide, and then drag the corresponding bookmarklet to your browser toolbar. On any page, just click on that bookmarklet to get the translated page.

As you see in the screenshots above, I tried the bookmarklet on my site to translate it from English to French, and it did the job pretty well. It also gives you more options to change the language directly on the page.

When we are watching any video on YouTube, usually the first few seconds of the video are completely unnecessary. If you want, you can skip the first 30% of the video when you open any YouTube video thanks to Wadsworth Constant Bookmarklet.

With Wadsworth Constant Bookmarklet, you can open any YouTube video and skip the first 20-30 seconds depending on the length of the video. The best thing about this is that you don’t have to install any third party application. To get started, all you have to do is add this phrase, “&wadsworth=1” at the end of the YouTube video URL and it will automatically start from 30-40%.

Folks over at Lifehacker have made a bookmarklet using Wadsworth Constant method which you can drag to your browser toolbar, open any YouTube video and click on the bookmarklet. It will automatically start the video at 30% without manually copying the code at the end of each YouTube video.

Tentative.ly: Bookmark Events To Be Reminded Of Them Later

Online calendars and reminder services do a great job of keeping you updated with upcoming events. But opening up your calendar or reminder service to add the details of every new event is inconvenient for many computer users. Here to make the process far more convenient is a web service called Tentative.ly.

Tentative.ly is a web service that helps you bookmarks events right from their webpages. After you create an account with the service by visiting its homepage, you can start making use of its helpful bookmarklet. Whenever you are on an online event’s webpage, click on the bookmarklet and a bar on top will drop down with fields corresponding to Name, Venue, Address, and Date.

You can click on a field in the bar and highlight the corresponding text on the webpage to have it automatically copied in the field. You can make manual edits too. Clicking on the Save button in the bar bookmarks the events in your Tentative.ly list. When an event is about to come up, you are sent an email reminder.

Snip.it: Collect & Share Link Bundles Online

There are a few services that let you create a bundle of links easily. However, very few of them actually help you curate those links for future reference or for more intelligent sharing. Snip.it is a new tool that aims at getting that done. It’s in beta but you can sign up using Facebook. It helps you create link collections and share them with friends.

The interface is nice and easy to use. Links can be “snipped” using their bookmarklet, entering the URL directly on their toolbar or by adding snip.it/ before any URL.

How this service stands out among the many other bookmarking services out there is something that you’ll need to figure out depending upon how you bookmark URLs. This is more like creating specific link collections, centered around an event, a topic or an interest.

As the name suggests, it allows you to email stuff to yourself via a bookmarklet. The best part – you can drag and drop text, images, videos and more from the web onto it and it emails them flawlessly along with the link. Pleeq: Nice Photo Bookmarking Tool

You will find numerous web services that let you bookmark webpages. But what if you want to save image URLs? Surely bookmarking an entire webpage only for an image it contains would be inconvenient and result in cluttered bookmarks. To resolve this issue you can use a web service called Pleeq.

Pleeq is a free to use web service that helps you bookmark online images. You start using the site by creating an account and then clicking on the activation link that is emailed to you.
