Suspend Background Tabs: Suspend Inactive Tabs To Boost Browser Performance [Firefox]

Tabbed browsing lets you keep multiple webpages open without opening multiple browser windows. But having many tabs open often slows down the performance of the browser and makes surfing the web sluggish. Here to help solve this problem on Firefox is a tool called Suspend Background Tabs.

firefox suspend tabs

Suspend Background Tabs is a browser add-on for Mozilla Firefox. The add-on helps users by boosting their browser performance. With the add-on installed, you are able to deactivate the auto-updating feature of background tabs. For example, if you have Facebook opened in a background tab, new Facebook notifications will appear on it only when you refresh that tab. This works for all webpages apart from Flash content. Not only does this better the browser performance, but it also speeds up the Internet.
