Twitter is a highly popular online social network that people use to share their updates and thoughts. By searching for what people are tweeting about a certain topic, you can quickly get an idea of what the public’s general attitude is about that topic. Here to help you do this is a useful web service called Solplay.

Solplay is a free to use web service that lets you easily and quickly search the Twitter stream for keywords. The site does not ask you to sign up for any accounts; all you do is type in the topic you are looking for. Relevant tweets are then displayed. You can control the frequency in which new tweets show up using the ‘volume’ bar in the player controls on top; these controls can also be used to pause or continue the stream, just like a media player. You can save the tweets you like as your favorites and save searches as presets.

NOTE: The service is currently in beta and we found it to work best in Google Chrome.
Features:
- A user-friendly web service.
- Lets you search for public tweets by topic.
- Lets you control frequency of showing new tweets.
- Lets you save searches and favorite tweets.
- Similar tool: Parrotfish and Lazyscope.
