Social Mention: The Social Media Search Engine
Social Mention is an unconventional search engine which is primarily geared towards searching the blogosphere and the social media world. It can search through blogs, microblogs like twitter, bookmarking services like delicious and also tracks images, news and videos from various sites like Flickr and YouTube. It also has a ‘ Comments ‘ tab which proves to be useful if you want to search conversations on sites like Friendfeed.
Social Mention can also be used for ego-surfing i.e to track your own reputation in the blogging and social media world. Although it doesn’t produce the search results instantly and is a bit slow in pulling up the results, it’s a useful tool nonetheless.

Thanks for the great write-up! Unfortunately, the current platform is, at times, slow when pulling up search results. We’re working hard on a new release that will yield much faster and better search results. It should be in the wild very shortly.
