SleepPreventer: Prevents Your PC From Going To Sleep Or Hibernate [Windows]

If you have ever watched a movie on your computer, you will know how annoying it is when, in the middle of the action, your computer goes to sleep or hibernates because it has been inactive for a while. SleepPreventer is a simple piece of software that can help you by preventing your PC from going to sleep or hibernate, no matter how long you leave it inactive for.

It even prevents your PC from dimming the display and/or starting the screensaver. Basically, once you install SleepPreventer and click on the “Prevent Sleep” icon, it overrides whatever default settings your PC may have. You can choose it to prevent sleep for a specific period of time like 5 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or for infinity. The tool is dead simple to use and can be really useful for watching movies, doing presentations or other stuff where your PC remains idle for a long time.

This can be done under power options in control panel for all versions of windows, why download unnecessary programs to your computer.

Thanks for sharing this solution, Michael!

The Windows Control Panel is intimidating for most users and it’s not necessarily intuitive. Moreover, you may want to keep the default settings and just turn off the screensaver or sleep mode temporarily. In this case a third party tool is a lot easier and more convenient than going into Power Options via the Control Panel.
