Digital images that have a large resolution capture all the details but come with a large file size. While this might not be a big problem when it comes to storing images offline, the large file size can be very problematic while sharing the images online with friends. This is because email services, forums, and file hosts often have a file size restriction; furthermore, the larger the file size, the longer it takes to upload. This is where image resizing applications come in handy. However many such apps let you control only the resolution you want to resize the image – you do not have any control over the image quality of the resized image. Here to offer you that control is a desktop application for Windows called Sizester.

Sizester is an excellent desktop application for Windows computers. Sized at nearly 2 MB, the app is very small and downloads quickly. Once you have the application installed, you can open a digital image inside its interface; supported image formats include JPG, JPEG, BMP, TIF, TIFF, PNG, and GIF. You can open images of these formats in the application and drag the corners of the image to resize it. Alternatively you can use the more precise tools displayed in the left panel.

The panel on the left lets you resize an image by using a resizing a slider, typing in a sizing percentage, or by typing the resolution of the resultant image in pixels. You can also indicate the image quality using a slider at the bottom. In case you are batch-resizing images, you can adjust resizing settings for all images simultaneously.

Once the images have been resized you can save them as new files on your computer. You can also upload the images directly online to various file hosts such as Facebook, Dropbox, SmugMug, and more.
The app offers its users various interface options to customize such as opening images in new windows and opening certain image file formats with Sizester by default.

Sizester comes with a price tag of $9.95 for a single license. You can use the app for free for 15 days without purchasing it. The developers of the app have generously provided the first 15 commenters on this post free licenses for the app.
Features:
- A user-friendly desktop app
- Compatible with Windows computers
- Lets you resize images

Sizester is going to make a lot of photographers and cloud sharing services really happy. Cool!
I need an image resizer and would like to try this one..
I think I’ve tried every photo editing app in the galaxy and this one finally looks like something that will suit my needs without 1000 extra features I’ll never use.
I also like the fact that it has such a small footprint, making it more convenient to keep running for quick availability.
Seems to be a nifty tool! I’d be very happy to have a free licence
This will be a very effective tool to be used with web design. User settings and multiple account upload features look to be very user friendly.
This will be a very effective tool for web design. The upload to multiple sites is an excellent feature for this app.
I’m looking for something easy, this may fill the bill!
I just downloaded the trial version, very impressed with the ease and speed of download, and no issues. A quick test run to see how functional it was for some one who is not a techie. Again I was very impressed and will be telling my friends.
I installed and tried it..it seems to be nice and easy with good results!
Having installed the trial version, I had to try it out. Again, another ‘Make Use Of’ winner. Functional and intuitive as stated, not to mention FUN. A great App.
An interesting new product with many features
I really need this software…its very important for photographers like us…
I would love to get this, always resizing photos and looking for a better way to do it.
I would love to have a copy of this, I am always resizing photos and am looking for a better way to do so.
This will be very convenient for me. Images direct from my digital camera are much too large to put on my web pages and so must be resized in order to display properly and load quickly. Great tool for my arsenal!
Great tool! I need to resize all digital camera images for use on my website as they are too large to display on a page and the large images load too slowly. This should really speed things up!
Looks like a pretty slick app and I could use it now. I’d could use a free license for this please.
I could definitely use this, especially the batch resizing and dropbox upload features. I could use a free license please.
I have been looking for an application that would allow me to batch resize and then email the resized photos in windows because my phone and camera capture at high resolution, and I don’t want to set the devices to a lower resolution if I don’t have to. Thank you for allowing me to streamline the workflow and I’m looking forward to trying it out.
Fantastic program! Very easy to use, especially for newbies. Installed on Win7 x64 with little RAM usage, even when batch converting. Highly recommended.
Excellent program. Installs easily on Win7 x64. Minimal RAM load, even with batch conversion of 10 photos. Interface is simpple to understand, even for newbies. Overall, a great addition to my utilities!
I would love to win this! it would make resizing stuff for the web and email so easy
This is just what I need!
Looks to be just what I’m looking for. Would love a copy.

I always need such a handy app to resize my pix.
Well I missed the land rush for a free licence – but in terms of core function I’m very happy with IrfanView (with the optional plugins) – Irfan doesn’t do file uploads but at first glance I think it has more image tools not in Sizester (and I don’t need file upload).
Irfan is very fast to load and perform its functions. Nothing on the Sizester website entices me to bother with the free trial. A free trial means: spend some time finding out how to use it then potentially have to do a clean up operation to remove it when the trial runs out. That’s only worthwhile if the specification shows a clear advantage over what I’m using.
Incredible app, easy to use, actually addresses quality and size. Just what I have been looking for.
I shared this on my Facebook business page with my customers and other virtual assistants. This seems so much easier than to work in PhotoShop or some other resizing program. Often virtual assistants are asked to resize photos for client websites or for social media sites. This is a great alternative.
Thank you.
