SensibleUnits : Convert Measurements to Objects that Make Sense

Not very good with numbers or measurement units ? Here is a fun little web app that takes standard weight, height, length etc. measurements and converts them into real world items such as CD cases, Football fields, MacBook laptops, London buses and so on. Quite handy if you want to get an idea about how big or heavy the object is. Simply enter the size or weigth of an item and it will instantly come up with a short list of objects. Great idea, the only problem is that it sometimes tends to give you the units you might not know about.

This also reminds me of DisplayWars, an extremely useful website that lets you easily compare TV screen sizes by mapping one display size on top of the other. DisplayWars shows you just how big the size difference is.

This is the result I got for 1 m(eter);

# 5.0 five month old human fetuses end to end.
# 20 AA batteries end to end.
# 8.3 CDs side by side.
