SendSocial is an innovative service which allows you to send gifts to friends without requiring you to know their physical addresses. The way it works is simple. First, you send an item to the person’s Twitter ID or email address. The service sends that person the request and if he accepts it, they take his address details from him.
After that you are asked to provide your address and pay for the gift using your credit or debit card. Once you are done, you get a sticker with a barcode that needs to be pasted on your gift package. The gift is collected from your doorstep by myHermes, SendSocial’s delivery partners.
The service is currently available only in the UK and costs £3.99 for up-to 2kg of gift package. They also provide a £25 compensation cover for free. The site plans to expand to other countries soon.
