This is the WORST cell phone buyback site of all time. SellMyOldCellPhone : Sell your Old Cell Phone for top dollar. Well, not really. It is a scam (but a legal scam if you read their fine print in the “Terms and Agreements” section).
When you go to their web site and select the old phone you wish to sell, they QUOTE a good price. BUT, once they have your phone, they send you an email stating that for this reason or another, your phone received only 1 star or maybe two stars (“quality” scale that THEY determine). They then give you a NEW OFFER which is typical 10-25% of the original QUOTE they gave you on their website. Oh, if you don’t like their “new offer” you can reject it— AND THEN YOU PAY $15.00 to get your old phone shipped back to you!!!! WHAT A GREAT COMPANY!!

Sounds like you sent a bunch of junk phones. I have used them before with no problems. But I had a realistic expectation of what my phone would be rated as. You can figure this out for yourself. It’s like trading in a used car. Your not going to get the full Kelly book value if it’s in terrible condition. It depends on your honesty.

Well, let’s see. I just sent them 10 brand new phones and they quoted $50 each. If Mike Moran is correct then surely I’ll experience the same thing. If not, then you’re correct.

I sent the phones last Dec 17 and reached them Dec 23rd. So far I haven’t heard anything from them.

Strange thing is, their customer support was telling me that the status of my order will be updated as soon as the phones are in their possesion when in fact usps.com already shows that the phone were delivered to them.

And, I even got an email last Dec 24th reminding me to use the shipping label they sent. Its just weird to get a reminder for a shipping label when the package has already been delivered.

        • gemsimmx

Correction, usps.com showed the phones were delivered Dec 22.

        • gemsimmx

I received an email on Dec 29 saying they received these.

They told me that they will honor the quoted price they gave me within 10 days after the shipping label was created.

On Dec 28, they changed the price of the phone to half.

Its not a coincidence that they notified me that they received the phones 13 days after the shipping label was created, 7 days after the phones were delivered, and the next day after they cut the price to half.

I’ll let everybody knows how it goes but I’m feeling something isn’t right and it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out.

I have used sellmyoldcellphone.com before and have had nothing but great experiences with them. I have had a few reductions but it was because the phones were in really bad shape. I thought they were fair in their offer price and they did after all pay to get the package with their free shipping and i knew that if i did not like the new offer i would have to pay and get it back. all of the sites that buy phones have the sames rules. as long as you know what to expect if you send a bunch of crap or even broken. I have nothing bad to say about them at all. I’m a repeat customer and will use them again in the future. Sounds like Mike has some crappy phones.

I love this company. They offer the best prices and have the easiest site to use. Quick and simple. Never had a bad experience with them yet. I change phones a lot and I use them every time I switch.

I agree with Kim, it is easy to use. Didn’t take all day to figure out what to do. The best part is that a shipping label was emailed to my computer. Anyway, I sent in a Moto Qpm and got $30.00. I would have got 40 but I knew it was scuffed a bit. It is what it is. Mike is just mad because he probably sent in something all broken up and expected to get the full amount. Thanks!
