I have tried this service and it works. Used an Atlanta local number to receive calls from landlines and cell. Right now only had one friend call but she has called from both a cell and landline.

A bit of an time delay but sound quality is what to be expected using a voip service with USB softphone.

Only complaint and it is a small is that call will be dropped once you are on approaching an hour to a little over an hour.

But for the guy above me to state that is is not a fit for business, well.... duh.

The call quality of Skype isn't good enough for a business among other flaws with skype so ofcourse it isn't a good option for business. Anyone who would even consider Skype as their standalone communication instead as an added asset gets what they deserves.

I am happy with ring2skype.

A bit of advice. I couldn't view captcha characters on ring2skype site using both Opera and Firefox browser but was able to see it on Internet Explorer. I am sure there was a reason for that but I couldn't figure it out but this little bit of info may come in handy for others.

Hi,
I have tried using ring2skype.com. The entire connection takes too much time. Besides, it is quite unreliable, across various numbers that I tried out ranging from US, Canada to Aus, NZ and Singapore. Definitely not fit for business, unsure if it is good enough for personal chats, as caller may actually lose patience!!

Needs significant improvement before I can consider any meaningful use.

Yes, but how do they make money? I couldn't find any business model mentioned on the site, which means it might not be there tomorrow. Not something I would rely on...
