Most people’s Downloads folder is quite cluttered and has all sorts of files in the same location. But we all would prefer an organized Downloads folder. In fact we would prefer all our folders to be organized. Here to help you do that is an application called PsychoFolder.

automatically organize files

PsychoFolder is a freeware desktop application for Windows computers. The application lets you automatically organize files within a folder by setting your own rules. You start by downloading the application which is sized at nearly 100 KB. You then install the app and point towards the folder you want to organize.

To set the rules, you right click on the app’s icon in the System Tray and select an XML file of rules. You can open up the default file and edit it to set your own rules. Rules can be sending certain file formats to other folders, unzipping archives, and more.

Nifty. If you don’t like this one try Dropit or Dropzone, which will do the exact same thing but like their name, they’ll create a ‘Drop Zone’ to process your files on demand.
