Philanthroper, as the name suggests, is a site that aims to promote philanthropy. It uses the daily deals concept to garner donations for non-profit institutions. Every day, there’s a non-profit featured on the site and you can donate just $1 to participate in the charity’s initiative. Currently available only for US citizens and non-profits, it features 501(c)3 non-profits (legal status of non-profits in the US) and uses mPayy to process the payments. You can’t pay through credit cards because they charge processing fees and Philanthroper doesn’t want that to happen.

The good thing about this site is that, as they claim, they do not take a cut from the donations and neither do the non-profits need to pay them anything. They use tiny ads on the site to help them run the business. You can also submit a non-profit of your choice.
