Anyone who’s been to a wedding knows the function of a gift registry: ensuring the bride and groom get things they actually want and will use. It’s a list of items that, if you purchase, you can feel completely assured will be appreciated.

OrgaSizer seeks to serve a similar function. The user enters their clothing sizes and their preferences regarding a number of other consumer goods – even MP3 players. This allows a would-be gift purchaser to purchase clothing that will fit physically and other gifts that will suit tastes.

Once you enter all your consumer preferences you can add friends and family, giving them access to these preferences – and you to theirs. This means that if you want to purchase a gift for your girlfriend you’ll know her size, assuming you both have an account at OrgaSizer.

This is of course a bit of a catch 22: Orgasizer won’t be useful until other people in your life start using it, but other people in your life won’t start using it until it’s useful. But that’s true of any web service. Orgasizer’s service is a unique on and it’s worth checking out.
