Nibbo: Improved Way To Search Google

I am a big fan of Google Search. But sometimes I mistakenly execute searches in ‘web’ when I actually want image or video results. Shifting from the web to image results requires an additional mouse click, which I would be happy to eliminate. That is where Nibbo comes into play.

nibbo

Nibbo is a search engine based on Google Search. The engine’s most prominent feature is how it integrates all types of search results within one page. For instance if you execute a search of “hippos” on Nibbo, the ‘web’ results will be shown in the center pane and to the right you can view results from images, videos, Wikipedia, news, and Twitter. This lets you breakdown and analyze search results consequently helping you find what you are looking for.

From the page:

We believe that there’s a lot of room for improvement in web searching, and we wanted to do something about it. This is the reason why Nibbo was born: to offer an improved way to find whatever you’re looking for. While other search engines offer only one type of search at a time, Nibbo will show a preview of multiple search types in an unobstrusive way, and provide information like the number of results that are to be expected for the different engines. The type and order of those previews is completely configurable, as well as the default search settings.

Another great feature is the absence of “Next” buttons; keep scrolling down and the “Next” page of the web results will automatically get loaded. The search results can also be emailed or shared on Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, Google Buzz, and Stumble.
