Mulve: Desktop based mp3 search and download software

Many people use torrents and other p2p techniques to get free music online. The download speed via these connections depends on other peers whose systems the audio file is on. A faster alternative to p2p audio downloads is Mulve.

mp3 search and download software

Mulve is a wonderful freeware application for Windows operating systems. It downloads mp3 files straight from servers that are hosting them. Sized at only 1.8 MB, its archive is quick to download. No installation of Mulve is required ““ all you do is extract and run the executable file contained in the archive.

Next you type in the name of your song along with any other things you think are relevant such as the artist or album name. Your search results are presented with each result having the following information: artist’s name, song title, song length, audio bitrate, and file size.

The application does not specify where the file is downloaded from but as long as you are getting the song without any glitches, the source should not really matter to the average user.

Features:

  • A user friendly app.
  • Compatible with Windows operating systems.
  • Lets you search for songs hosted online.
  • Displays detailed information on each search result.
  • Lets you download songs.

This is what you see when you visit http://www.mulve.com :

Err. Following severe legal issues, we have decided to take the website/application offline for good.
We have received too much unneeded attention, and in order to be able to continue living our lives we do not want to fight this.
We ask you not to create any clones which are credited to us (chances are you’ll probably forget about us shortly, anyway and move onto something else).

This project obviously snowballed out of control, so we would like to personally apologize to all those who were directly affected.

Nonetheless, it is amazing knowing how many people are willing to and have been supporting us, we thank you all greatly.

    Best Regards,
    D.E

    so….it’s over !
