Finding internet access while traveling can be petty hit or miss. LaptopFriendlyCafes.com helps by indexing cafes with free wifi in cities around the world.
You can browse by typing in your current location (city name or area code both work great) or by simply clicking one of the major cities featured on the site’s homepage.
The site may not be that useful if you find yourself in rural areas, however: as of this writing there are only 500 cafes featured, and 200 of these are split equally between London and New York City. Still, the site is worth checking out if you’re in either of those cities or the Australian cities of Melbourne and Sydney.

If your a cafe owner, and want your cafe with free-WiFi to be included in the directory, there’s a one-time fee of £3.95. This is a reasonable price for the cafe owner, I think, and ensures the site a revenue stream so they can keep the site free for end-users.

Features:
- Directory of cafes with Internet access.
- Lists both free WiFi and 3G coverage.
