KwiClick: Add Google Search and More to Right Click Menu
KwiClick is a multifunctional Firefox add-on that lets you quickly retrieve information from websites like Google, YouTube, Google Maps, Flickr, Wikipedia, FriendFeed, Amazon, Technorati and Delicious. Basically, KwiClick adds a new search option to the right click menu that opens search results in a small new window without navigating from the current page.

The process is really simple, once the add-on is installed you can highlight word or phrase on any webpage, open right-click menu and select the KwiClick. The results will be shown in a clean KwiClick window at the right bottom of your browser.
Here is the list of things you can do using KwiClick:
- View Google results on any webpage.
- Detach embedded videos from any page.
- Find delicious bookmarks about anything.
- Get your FriendFeed updates anytime.
- Read comments related to any embedded videos you find.
- Quickly email embedded videos to your friends.
- Share images and videos on social networks.
- Addreses on the webpages will become interactive maps.
- Quickly search flickr for interesting image.
- Watch popular web videos.
- Find reference information on Wikipedia.
- Look up anything across variety of services.
- Option to add and use mouse gestures.

One other add on with similar but both more limited and quicker to use capabilities is QuickDrag. Like Kwiclick you start by highlighting something. You then drag it. If it is a link, it opens in a new tab. Text opens a new tab and does a search with whatever engine is selected in your search box. Graphics are downloaded.
Sounds similar to the Ubiquity extension from Mozilla Labs. I’ll try this out though.
Thanks for the writeup! Dave P – the primary purpose of KwiClick is to retrieve the information, and interact with it, without the need to open a new tab. Our primary goal is to help users stay focus on the task they are currently performing. We currently integrate with the FireGestures addon for customizable mouse gesture support; with more gesture addon support coming soon.
Sean, although KwiClick has been compared to Ubiquity a few times, we think we’re taking a different approach here. Also, we’ve written Ubiquity commands for KwiClick, so that you can initiate KwiClick using Ubiquity itself.
Thanks for the feedback!
