The massive popularity of Pinterest is undeniable – it provides a visual way to show off, discover and sort through you own personal tastes as well as being a great way to drive traffic to retailers and image-heavy websites. This popularity undoubtedly spawned hundreds of clones, each baying for attention but most ignored by the masses who preferred the real thing. KeepOne is a similar service, except it lets you keep more than just pictures and movies.
KeepOne is designed to be one place to keep the interesting things you find around the web. Much like Pinterest you can create new collections, except instead of the “Pin” button you’ll see a “Keep” which you can drag from your stream to your favourites. Keep music, videos, images, things to read, favourite websites – literally anything you want, while displaying your activity publicly to followers.
That’s just another thing that KeepOne shares with Pinterest – followers, which it assigns to you on joining so you’ve got something to look at. The service works by connecting your Google, Facebook or Twitter account which makes it easier to follow friends. You can also browse by category to find users you’re interested in. All in all the service is very similar to Pinterest, albeit with a bit more flexibility with regards to what you can keep but not adding that much extra functionality.
- Create “Collections” which allow you to keep music, images, videos, text and webpages.
- Follow other users, quickly add their favourites to yours via drag and drop.
- Re-keep, like and comment on others’ activity.
- Watch out for adult content, which you can filter out using privacy settings.
