Another one you can use as well is http://www.ismywebsiteonline.com. This Service, which has a basic free account, checks your website every x minutes and sends you an email if it is down. You can also get an sms for a small fee, which is well worth it!. They also have some neat stats etc.
isthisdown always tells me wrong information. I started using http://www.checksite.us instead and it has worked. Thankfully I’ve only had to use it twice – the other day my host (iPower) was down
