Tags: , , , , , | Added: 7 Jan, 2008 (5,686 Views)

IM-History is a pretty cool desktop application that lets your save and sync chat conversations from multiple instant messaging programs to one place. Whether you’re on Skype, MSN, AIM, ICQ, at work or at home, you can have all of your chat conversations securely stored in one secure web account.

IM-History

How It Works?

  • First, create an account and download and install the IM-History program (Win, Linux).
  • Once installed, the program automatically detects the IM clients on your PC and asks you to choose which messenger clients you want to record.
  • Done. Run your IM clients to see if it is working.

IM-History Features

  • Access chat history for all your contacts from any computer.
  • Supported IM clients: Skype, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, MSN, Miranda IM, QIP, Trillian, Pidgin (Linux), and AIM.
  • Upload and merge existing history archives.
  • Coming soon: Google Talk, Kopete and IChat. Plus the ability to sync IM conversations from mobile phones as well.
  • For more info see IM-History FAQ page or take the introduction tour.

[…] Windows/Linux: Free beta program IM History offers a web-synced way to store instant message chats across multiple computers, and operating systems, from a variety of chat clients. Right now, the service supports AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Skype, Trillian, and a few other clients, but my pet peeve is Pigin supported only in Linux, leaving dual-booters like me in the cold. That aside, once enabled, IM History lets you access your chat history and contacts from a web interface, and being able to search chats from across platforms—to find, for instance, a link sent long ago— is where many users will find this app convenient. IM History is a free download for Windows and Linux. IM History [via MakeUseOf.com] […]

Simkl is stll in closed beta, plus it doesn’t support as many IM clients as IM-History. So it’s highly unlikely that these guys copied them. As about Pidgin, IM-History supports it as well, but only Linux version.
