Thrift Hunting : Compare Prices for CD, DVD, Books by UPC or ISBN
Are you a modern day treasure hunter? ThriftHunting.com is an online community for the modern day treasure hunter who enjoys the thrill of looking for valuable items at thrift stores, garage sales, yard sales, etc. Using Thrift Hunting UPC/ISBN lookup utility you can compare prices for CD, DVD, Books by UPC or ISBN.

The price lookup utility uses an item’s UPC or ISBN to search for the minimum prices as listed on various websites (Amazon, Half.com, PriceGrabber). The search results are returned and displayed in an easy to read table that allows you to compare prices and basically see if an item is a great buy or not.
What is a UPC (Universal Product Code) or ISBN (International Standard Book Number)? Well it can be thought of as the barcode number associated with a certain item or product. Since most products have a barcode associated with them essentially any item can be easily looked up by simply typing or scanning in the UPC (or ISBN) and submitting it to be processed.
Feature:
- Retrieve the minimum price from several websites using an item’s UPC or ISBN.
- Contains four search modes (single item, batch, mobile, sms) for looking up an item.
- Search as many items in any of the versions (single item, batch processing, mobile, sms) as you like.
- Results returned and displayed in an easy to read table.
- Results clickable and will take you to the listing of that item on the associated website.
- Download and save your table of searched items for your records.
- Mobile version: stripped down version of the same utility but for easy viewing on mobile devices.
- Sound notifications for mobile devices (just enter the number and listen to see if an item is a good buy).
- SMS feature: Text an item’s UPC or ISBN to hunter@thrifthunting.com and receive a text message back with the results.
Note: Use of the “hunter” utility on ThriftHunting.com is free but some features are limited to upgraded members once the trial period expires (don’t worry there will always be a free version for processing items, it just might not have all the bells and whistles). Also note that for the “SMS” feature standard text messaging fees may apply depending on your mobile service contract.
