Grandview: A Distraction-Free Typing Interface For The Mac That Lets You Type One Word At A Time [10 Free Licenses]

If your job involves typing on your computer for any length of time and if you are curious about finding the best app, then you have probably tried out a plethora of text editing applications. You also have learned, by experience, that most text editors that offer a distraction-free interface deliver their promise only to a certain extent. You will find that when you type white text on a blank interface, soon enough you begin reading your own typed sentences and enter the editing process before you are done with the writing process. This, for writers, is a major problem since it halts creativity. Here to effectively solve this problem is an excellent application called Grandview.

grandview

Grandview is an application for Mac computers. The app’s current version is 1.4 and is sized at 0.8 MB. Your computer needs Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later to run the app. Using Grandview, you are able to focus solely on the writing process as you get a large notepad interface that expands to the entirety of your screen. On this canvas you can then type one word at a time.

Of course you can always adjust the font size and revert to typing entire sentences. However people have reported excellent progress using the one-word-at-a-time method. This simple technique is also excellent for presentations when you want the audience to follow each and every word you type.

The app offers a bunch of customizations along with hotkey support. You can customize fonts, colors, sizes and a bunch of other properties to set your preferences.

Grandview is available for $4.99 but its developers have offered 10 free licenses to the first 10 commenters on this post.

Features:

  • A user-friendly desktop app.
  • Compatible with Mac computers.
  • Lets you type in a distraction free interface.
  • Lets you type on word at a time.
  • Suitable for writing and presentations.

This is what I need to be productive. Too many times I get hung up on formatting and loose track of what I was trying to write.
