Google SendToPhone : Text from any Webpage to Your Phone

SendToPhone is a simple firefox extension that allows you to send short text messages of web page content to any mobile phone for free (US only). For example, you might text message yourself a phone number, an address, or directions that you find on the Web.

Once it is installed you should see a tiny cell phone icon in the upper right hand corner of the browser. Whenever you want to forward something to a cellphone just highlight relevant text and press ‘SendToPhone’ icon. Next enter recipient’s phone number and select the appropriate carrier.

How It Works ?

  • Highligh some text and click the Google SMS icon on the upper-right corner of your browser toolbar
  • Fill-in the the destination number, select the appropriate carrier and click the ‘Send Message’ button.

Note: Sending text messages via Google SendToPhone is 100% free. However, depending on the receipeint’s mobile plan, s/he may be charged for receiving text messages.
