Google Ride Finder: Find Taxi, Limousine or Shuttle in the Area
Looking for a ride to an airport, movie theater, your favorite bar, shopping mall or any other place? Need a limo service as soon as possible? Using Google’s Ride Finder service you can search for available taxis, shuttles and limousines in your locality. It shows you the actual location of each vehicle in the area.
Currently the service supports only 10 major cities in the US. These are:
- Atlanta, GA
- Austin, TX
- Baltimore, MD
- Chicago, IL
- Dallas, TX
- Los Angeles, CA
- New York, NY
- Phoenix, AZ
- San Francisco, CA
- Washington, DC
There is nothing to install or download, simply enter a zipcode, the name of a city or your exact location and it will give you an area map along with the location of each vehicle. Vehicles are shown as little balloons (see screenshot below). Once you have located the vehicle you need, just call the service provider to reserve it. The company phone numbers are provided as well.
The Google Ride Finder is still a beta product and being constantly improved. So expect a wider coverage in the near future. For additional details see their FAQ section.
