I know I am replying to an old post. I was researching web alerts tools and I cam across this site which has some really good features which I felt apt to share with you.

Trackle.com was launched last month. It's a new service in the market which actually has the potential to overtake all the other web alert online services, including Google Alerts. It helps you track just about anything - movies, books, youtube videos, events, jobs, birthdays….just anything and everything which is traceable on the internet. It also provides real time RSS feeds and alerts of things like job listings, product prices and financial information, which is really cool.

Try it..Its free

The Google Alerts work for news. For web results, I use Daily Search Results. It provides feed with newly discovered search results.
